1st Stop Business Connection is an informative site created by the Ohio Department of Development.

They will guide you through their, "Six simple steps to create a business information kit". You can download your kit, or call 800-248-4040 to have a kit sent to you through U.S. mail.

After reviewing your kit, contact your local SBDC (Small Business Development Center) for free, one-on-one business consulting assistance. Your local SBDC office may be reached at 419-755-9011. Call to schedule an appointment. Most appointments are held right here in Knox County at the Chamber office, 400 South Gay Street, in Mount Vernon.

SCORE is an association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small businesses start, grow, and succeed nationwide. They are another great source to get your business idea going and provide free consulting services. You can call the Knox County Chamber of Commerce office at 740-393-1111 to receive contact information for scheduling an appointment. Appointments are held at the Chamber office, conveniently located at 400 South Gay Street in Mount Vernon.
