
The Legislative Committee meets at Sips Coffee House (101 S Main Street location) at 12:00pm on the second Thursday of each month..
The Purpose of the Legislative Affairs Committee is to
1. Maintain a working relationship with local and state elected and appointed officials to ensure they are continually aware of the needs of business in the Knox County community, with regard to legislative issues and government programs & projects.
2. Educate Chamber members on local and state issues that will have an affect on business in Knox County.
3. Provide opportunities for our members to regularly meet and talk with our elected officials, both in the community and at the Statehouse.
4. Conduct events to inform members on legislative affairs such as "Meet the Candidates" and "Discuss the Issues" luncheons as well as provide topics for the monthly Midday Matters luncheons.
5. Coordinate on-site visits with local business owners and elected officials.
