When joining the Chamber of Commerce, there are many advantages for businesses.  Benefits such as business referrals, a group health insurance plan, a telephone association package, and a worker's compensation group plan are just a few of the good reasons for being a part of the Chamber.

The Chamber of Commerce is an information center ready and willing to provide the community with business workshops, a Clubs and Associations Directory, a community profile, educational seminars, an Industrial Guide, legislative updates, Retail Statistics, and Zoning Regulations.

The Chamber partners with the following organizations to develop a greater community:

  • Area Development Foundation which is the Economic Development organization for the Knox County community.
  • The Heritage Center Association focuses on the preservation, revitalization and economic development of downtown Mount Vernon. 
  • The Knox County Career Center concentrates on employer development. 
  • The Knox County Safety Council works with businesses in ongoing education about on-the-job safety.
The Mount Vernon-Knox County Chamber of Commerce holds numerous social events over the year such as the Annual Golf Outings and Business After Hours.  The Chamber also sponsors the Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation every year which recognizes outstanding businesses and individuals.

The Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, business organization.  By seeking new methods of assisting citizens, planning for tomorrow's progress and guaranteeing the city a result of efficient service and courtesy, the Chamber works for better businesses in a better community.
