    Dental Hygienist
    Knox Public Health has a full-time Dental Hygienist position open in the Community Health
    Center Danville Dental Clinic. The responsibilities of this position will include but may not be
    limited to: Completing adult and child prophylaxis by cleaning deposits & stain from teeth below
    the gumline; placement of sealants; taking digital (x-rays); helping patients feel comfortable
    before, during and after dental treatment; teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to
    maintain oral health;(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling); Entering and
    maintaining patient information with the agency electronic dental record system; communicating
    with patients, staff, & supervisor to maintain an informed atmosphere; maintain supplies &
    cleanliness at all times; follow office policies and procedures protocol; provide aid in other areas
    of the dental clinic when needed.
    Requirements of this position are: current licensure in Ohio as a licensed dental hygienist. A
    minimum of two years’ experience as a licensed dental hygienist is preferred however
    individuals will be assessed on a case-by-case basis; Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary
    License a plus. Requires exceptional hygienist, communication, computer and customer
    service skills.
    This position is
    regular, full-time 40 hours per week, Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    usually in ten (10) hour shifts, subject to a rotating, or flexible day-time shift schedule; may work
    additional hours, evenings, and/or weekends as required
