What is the Knox County Safety Council?
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation co-sponsors over 80 safety councils in Ohio.
The goal of the safety council program is to provide a forum for increasing occupational safety, health, and wellness in local communities. Members learn from different subject matter experts at monthly meetings and connect with a BWC safety consultant who works directly with their safety council.
BWC increased the rebate employers receive on their workers’ compensation premium to 3% for the upcoming program year. This highlights the importance of the safety council program for protecting Ohio’s workers.
To participate, employers need to either join or confirm their existing, active membership in their local safety council by July 31, 2023, and attend at least 10 monthly meetings.
